I took this course mostly to practice listening and speaking, and also to meet others who are interested in the Indonesian language. A surprising number of words are English cognates. The grammar is very reasonable.

I'd love to someday visit Indonesia. My partner used to live in Jakarta and first inspired me to want to learn about Indonesian language. I love Indonesian vegetarian food and learning about the culture. I also have been wanting to learn a language other than English and this was an incredible opportunity for me to learn while supporting the Indonesian community in New England.

My only feedback for the class would be to upload the lessons into one Google folder or one singular location. The lessons were sent in individual emails and it sometimes got confusing to search back for previous lessons. Otherwise, I have absolutely nothing but positive things to say!

This class is great for learning the grammar and the skeleton of sentences in Indonesian because that is something difficult to learn for people like me who primarily speak English. I've learned different pronounces and the way that adjectives can modify Indonesian sentences, and where to actually place certain words correctly.

I'd never thought I'd have my own business in catering. But thanks to ICONE, since I participated in one of their events in Boston as their food contributor few weeks ago, I'm now doing catering for several people on my own.
